Second Mero FPSO reaches Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – SBM Offshore has delivered the FPSO Sepetiba to Petrobras, the second platform for the Mero field development in the presalt Santos basin.

The vessel, built in China, arrived in Brazil last Friday and will undergo various legal and technical procedures before heading to Mero.

It is designed to produce up to 180,000 b/d of oil and 12MMcm/d of gas million cubic meters of gas. It is expected to begin production in the fourth quarter of this year.

According to Petrobras this will be the third largest in terms of volume of oil in place to be developed of the eventual four FPSOs at the field. Their combined oil production capacity will be up to 720,000 b/d.

Petrobras (38.6%) operates, in partnership with Shell Brasil (19.3%), TotalEnergies (19.3%), CNPC (9.65%), CNOOC (9.65 %) with Pré- Sal Petróleo S.A - PPSA (3.5%), representing the Federal Government in the non-contracted area.
