GUILDFORD, UK – Transocean’s semisubmersible Paul B. Loyd Jr. has departed the Finlaggan field in the UK central North Sea after completing development drilling and testing operations.

The rig has now demobilized to Invergordon, northeast Scotland.

Zennor Petroleum is developing Finlaggan via two subsea production wells tied back 20 km (12.4 mi) to the Britannia platform. The development is targeting 30 MMboe of gas condensate.

During testing both wells (F1 and F2) flowed more than 12,000 boe/d, with rates constrained by the surface facilities. They also produced at much higher than anticipated flowing well head pressures, Zennor added, confirming the quality of the reservoir sections.

TechnipFMC is constructing the 20-km (12-mi) subsea pipe-in-pipe system and should install the electrohydraulic control umbilical this summer. Production should begin in 4Q 2020.
