CGG, Petronas collaborate on advanced imaging
Offshore staff
MASSY, France – Petronas Caligari has awarded CGG a five-year contract to develop a Centre for Advanced Imaging (CAI) at the Petronas Twin Towers complex in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This will provide a framework for technical development of Petronas staff and R&D collaboration, CGG said, in the domain of multi-physics.
It is also Petronas’ first ever CAI award. The aims include direct and closer interaction with imaging geophysicists to fasttrack processing of seismic and multi-physics data from Petronas’ global acreage.
The company will gain access to software suites developed by CGG Subsurface Imaging, Multi-Physics and GeoSoftware, allowing it to conduct technical analysis at the pace and priority needed by its various divisions.
In addition, the CAI will enable Petronas to investigate expansion into multi-disciplinary solutions and examine the potential for cloud computing and machine learning.
