RTX buys fourth VSO system from I/O
Offshore staff
HOUSTON --Reservoir Exploration Technology has purchased for $29 million its fourth VectorSeisOcean system from Input/Output Inc. VSO is a redeployable, ocean-bottom cable seismic imagining system that supports multi-component data acquisition. Delivery is scheduled to start in 4Q 2007.
This VSO system includes enhanced diagnostic capabilities integrated within the Gator command and control software from Concept Systems, an I/O subsidiary.
"Over the last several months, we have worked in close partnership with RXT to witness first-hand their field experience with the VSO system," says Chuck Ledet, senior vice president of the Marine Imaging Systems Division at I/O. "As a result, we have identified valuable ways to advance the performance of the VSO acquisition system. RXT brings a wealth of knowledge about seabed operations to the table. We fully expect our collaboration with RXT will result in better imaging and improved productivity, which are the key objectives of our ultimate end-use customers – the oil & gas companies."
With the placement of this purchase order, RXT maintains their exclusive access to VSO through the end of 2007.
