HOUSTON --GE Energy introduced its new enhanced propagation wave resistivity system at the Offshore Technology Conference.

The Centerfire system provides formation evaluation data while drilling. Resistivity measurements are combined with gamma ray data.

The retrievable tool uses GE Energy's MWD direction module mounted above the resistivity collar. The MWD probe gives data on directional drilling and logging to the surface and acts as a data storage and power hub for the system. The gamma ray module can be mounted on the drillstring where the operator prefers, either above or below the resistivity sub.
