MELBOURNE, Australia –Acquisition of 2D seismic on the Wortel gas discovery and adjacent leads in the Sampang production sharing contract area offshore East Java, Indonesia, is under way.

The 395 km (245 mi) seismic survey is designed to provide infill data for the discovery and aid in locating an appraisal well scheduled for the first half of 2008, according to Cue Energy.

Sampang PSC participants are Santos (Sampang) Pty Ltd. as operator with 45%, Singapore Petroleum Co. Ltd. with 40%, and Cue Sampang Pty Ltd. with 15%.
