Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) has tasked SLB with supporting the restoration of production from shut-in wells across multiple offshore fields.

This will be the first application for BSP of SLB's integrated production restoration solution, which encompasses selection of well candidates, project management, engineering, intervention services, monitoring, metering and marine logistics—all under a single, coordinated execution model.

The work scope for this contract covers subsurface evaluation, well candidate selection, engineering and offshore execution. 

The project reflects a growing industry focus on maximizing recovery from existing offshore assets through targeted well interventions rather than relying solely on new developments. For operators managing mature fields, restoring production from shut-in wells can offer a comparatively fast and cost-effective route to adding barrels while extending field life.
