OSLO, Norway – Statoil has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) to drill an exploratory well in license PL167, northeast of the Ivar Aasen field in the central Norwegian North Sea.
The semisubmersibleDeepsea Bergen will drill well 16/1-29 S, the sixth on the license since it was awarded in 1991 under Norway’s 13th licensing round.
