AGR assisting Norske Shell with well planning
Offshore staff
STRAUME, Norway – Norske Shell has awarded AGR Petroleum a software/well engineering contract to assist the company’s well planning process.
AGR says its iQx and new Digital Drilling software (D2) should help Shell reduce the planning stages for new projects by several weeks, hence also associated costs, and develop more effective knowledge sharing.
The Digital Drilling planning process is designed to help companies digitalize their drilling and wells projects.
According to AGR, team members can communicate via a single web interface, allowing them to share all metadata, calculated well data and risk data centrally.
Data visualization and modeling programs help the teams refine their designs and reduce risks, with the software finally enabling the entire drilling program to be sent to partners and relevant authorities for approval.
