ABERDEEN, UK – The semisubmersible Transocean Arctic has finished drilling the Rungne exploration well for Faroe Petroleum in the Norwegian North Sea.

Although the well encountered a 56 m (184 ft) gross, 17 m (56 ft) net gas/condensate column in good quality interbedded Middle Jurassic Ness formation sandstones, the estimated reserves of 12-75 bcf of gas and 0.5-3.9 MMbbl of condensate will probably be insufficient for a standalone development.

Well 30/6-30 was spudded on Oct. 19, reaching TD of 3,469 m (11,381 ft) below sea level.
