LUANDA, Angola – Total and its partners in block 17 offshore Angola have committed to two new fasttrack satellite field developments.

CLOV Phase 2 will involve drilling seven new wells tied back to the host FPSO, with first oil expected in 2020, peaking at 40,000 b/d.

Under Dalia Phase 3, six further wells will be drilled, also tied back to that project’s FPSO, with first oil expected in 2021, peaking at 30,000 b/d.

These two developments andZinia Phase 2 on the same block, sanctioned earlier this year, will collectively produce 150 MMbbl of additional resources that should sustain the block’s production plateau above 400,000 b/d through 2023.

To date the various projects have produced collectively more than 2.6 Bbbl.

In July, Total also started up theKaombo project in 2,000 m (6,562 ft) of water in block 32, 260 km (161 mi) from the coast of Luanda, through the FPSO Kaombo Norte (production capacity 115,000 b/d).

The second FPSOKaombo Sul, with similar capacity, should enter service next year doubling overall production to 230,000 b/d at peak, with the associated gas exported to the Angola LNG plant.

A total of 59 wells will eventually be connected to the two floaters, both conversions of VLCC, harnessing resources from the Gengibre, Gindungo, Caril, Canela, Mostarda and Louro fields in the central and southern part of the block.
