OSLO, Norway – DEA Norge has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill an exploration well in the Barents Sea.

The semisubmersibleIsland Innovator will spud well 7321/4-1 in license PL721 after completing operations on wildcat well 7322/7-1 for Spirit Energy Norge in PL 852.

The location is around 140 km (87 mi) north of theJohan Castberg field and 350 km (217 mi) northwest of Hammerfest. This will be the first well on the license, awarded in 2013.
