Offshore staff

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia --Saudi Aramco has contracted Jan De Nul to dredge in the Arabian Gulf as part of the Manifa offshore oil field development.

The dredging will precede construction of several drilling islands and a 41-km (25 mi) causeway to link the islands to the coast.

This was the first lump-sum contract awarded for Manifa, which is the largest offshore Saudi project for Aramco. Upon completion of development, scheduled for 2011, Manifa will product 900,000 b/d of heavy crude oil.
