LONDON --ConocoPhillips has P&A'd a well on the Acer prospect in the South Viking Graben area of the UK North Sea, according to partner Endeavour. The well tested an Upper Jurassic sandstone target south of the Brae and Miller fields.

Endeavour is participating in four more wells in the North Sea this year. Drilling on the Balgownie prospect in UK block 30/23b is due to start this week, testing a Fulmar sand objective.

The jack-upGlobalSantaFe Galaxy II will drill this and another well this summer on Emu in the southern gas basin. Around the same time, the semisubmersible Sedco 714 has been contracted for appraisal drilling of the Columbus discovery in the Central North Sea.

In the Norwegian sector, Endeavour is a partner on a planned well in the Njord NW Flank prospect in the Haltenbanken basin, designed to test the mid-lower Jurassic section in two fault blocks.
