CALGARY, Canada --Antrim Energy has started drilling the second of three wells planned this year on its Causeway property in the UK. Well 211/22a-7 is targeting Mid-Jurassic Brent sandstones on the Central Causeway structure.
The location is 1 km (0.62 mi) southwest of the company's recent 211/22a-6 discovery, which tested 6,300 b/d of light oil combined from two separate Jurassic Brent formations.
Antrim will decide whether to test the latest well or case it for future production based on electric log data, once the well has reached target depth. It then will drill the third well in the sequence, appraising the 211/22a-3 find from 1984, which tested up to 5,5050 b/d in the southwest fault compartment of the Causeway structure.
