OSLO, Norway --The semisub Bredford Dolphin has spudded the first in a series of 21 planned wells for AGR Group, under a multi-client campaign on the Norwegian shelf.

AGR has contracted the rig for three years on behalf of seven oil companies, following an extensive program of upgrades for service in Norwegian waters.

"This is our first such program on the NCS following successful programs in the UKCS over the last few years," says Geir Finsrud, VP of AGR Petroleum Services Norway. "We believe that putting together such opportunities for smaller oil and gas companies is opening up the exploration industry where it might otherwise have been restricted due to the tightness of the rig market and the size of drilling programs of the smaller oil and gas exploration companies."
