OSLO, Norway --The semisubmersible Bredford Dolphin can drill the Lie prospect for DNO in Norwegian production license 305, following an authorization from Norway's Petroleum Safety.

DNO has contracted the rig for various upcoming slots to drill up to eight wells over a three-year period.

The company also planned to participate in an exploratory well on the Goliat North prospect in the Barents Sea towards the end of this year. But this has been postponed in favour of a new data acquisition program on the license, which should help prioritize the next planned drilling sequence on the acreage.

Another of the company's planned wells on the Freke prospect in production license PL029B at the end of June, had to be postponed, with the contracted rigWest Epsilon detained on plugging and abandonment operations elsewhere. The partners now plan to use the rig to explore the Ragnarock structure in PL265.
