ADELAIDE, Australia -- Santos has reached TD with the Mutineer-13 appraisal well and confirms that it is non-commercial. The well is being plugged and abandoned.
Mutineer-13 was designed to test for a potential extension of the Mutineer field. According to the company, the result has no impact on existing proven and probable oil reserves for the Mutineer and Exeter fields. However, the testing has removed some of the possible (3P) reserve and production upside attributable to the well location, the company says.
TheSonga Mercur drilling rig will now begin planned work-over activity on existing Mutineer-Exeter production wells. Further drilling in the area is planned for 2008
