Eni spuds Woollybutt-6H

Tap Oil Ltd. has provided an update on the Woollybutt field that gives the status of the Woollybutt-6H appraisal well in permit WA-25-L in the Barrow sub-basin.

PERTH, Western Australia -- Tap Oil Ltd. has provided an update on the Woollybutt field that gives the status of the Woollybutt-6H appraisal well in permit WA-25-L in the Barrow sub-basin. The well is located between oil discoveries Woollybutt-3A and Woollybutt-5A.

Woollybutt-6H is a deviated appraisal well drilled approximately midway between Woollybutt-3A and Woollybutt-5A to prove up an oil column and southern extension of the Woollybutt South field. If the appraisal is successful, Tap says, Woollybutt-6H will be completed as a development well and tied back to the existing Woollybutt infrastructure.

Woollybutt-6H has a planned TD of 3,200 m (10,499 ft). Drilling, completion, and well testing operations are expected to take 46 days.

Eni Australia Ltd. operates Woollybutt with 65% interest. Partners include Tap West Pty. Ltd. with 15% interest and Mobil Australia Resource Co. Pty. Ltd. with 20% interest.
