ABERDEEN, UK --Endeavour International has plugged and abandoned a well on the Balgownie prospect in UK block 30/23b.
The well was drilled to a total depth of 9,984 ft (3,043 m) subsea, and encountered around 130 ft (39.62 m) of gross reservoir thickness in the targeted Fulmar sandstone. Data analysis suggested hydrocarbon saturations were present, but not in commercial quantities.
Chariman William L. Transier claimed the well was still a technical success, adding that the company was now preparing to drill another well on the Emu structure in the southern gas basin.
