TRONDHEIM, Norway --Pertra plans to drill two exploration wells on Norwegian Sea production license 321. This follows completion of an 800 sq km (309 sq mi) 3D seismic acquisition campaign under the license's first-phase program.

This summer/fall, Pertra will commission a drill site survey ahead of the first well in 2008. The main prospect is in late-Jurassic sandstones and was deposited on the western flank of Frøyhøgda, a basement high. The well depth will be around 2,000 m (6,561 ft).

Aker Exploration will pay Pertra's share of the costs for the two wells. The other partners are Talisman and Hydro. The acreage was awarded under Norway's 18th licensing round.
