HOUSTON -- Cairn Energy-operated West Cameron block 332 No. 1 well has been drilled and logged non-commercial sands, according to partner Bayou Bend Petroleum. The well, drilled to 14,250 ft (4,343 m) MD, is being plugged and abandoned.

Bayou says it plans to drill at least seven exploration wells by the end of this year. The company holds over 73,000 acres in the shallow-water Gulf of Mexico.
