Eni lining up Norwegian Sea probe

The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority has approved Eni's plans for an exploration well in the Norwegian Sea.

OSLO, Norway --The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority has approved Eni's plans for an exploration well in the Norwegian Sea.

Eni will use Seadrill Offshore's semisubmersibleWest Alpha to drill well 6507/2-4 in production license 122. The well should get under way shortly, and is expected to take 45-60 days to drill.

Dong and Statoil are Eni's partners in the license.
