Hydro find boosts Njord reserves

Hydro has found gas and condensate with its latest exploration well in the Njord area of the Norwegian Sea.

OSLO, Norway --Hydro has found gas and condensate with its latest exploration well in the Njord area of the Norwegian Sea.

The semisubmersibleTransocean Winner is close to concluding well 6407/7-75, located 5 km (3.11 mi) northwest of the Njord A platform in 334 m (1,096 ft) water depth. The aim was to prove petroleum in Jurassic reservoir rock.

Hydro estimates the size of the find at 1-6 bcm (35-212 bcf) recoverable of gas and 0.5-2.5 bcm (18-88 bcf) of condensate. There will be no production test. Next up for the rig will be a branch well (6407/7-B-1 Y1H) on Njord's Northwest Flank.
