THEDDLETHORPE, UK –ConocoPhillips' latest exploration well in the UK southern North Sea has encountered a 16 m (52.5 ft) gas column in the targeted Lower Ketch formation.

Well 44/19b-6, on the Harrison prospect, was drilled 20 km (12.5 mi) northeast of the Murdoch platform. It is now being flow tested.

Partner Tullow Oil says early data suggests the result was in line with pre-drill expectations, and that other gas prospects in this and adjacent blocks now have been substantially de-risked.
