PTTEP hits oil in Gulf of Thailand

PTT Exploration and Production Public Co. Ltd. has encountered good quality crude oil with exploration well NNN-A04ST in the Gulf of Thailand. The well flowed at an average rate of 9,050 b/d of oil.

BANGKOK, Thailand -- PTT Exploration and Production Public Co. Ltd. has encountered good quality crude oil with exploration well NNN-A04ST in the Gulf of Thailand. The well flowed at an average rate of 9,050 b/d of oil.

Well NNN-A04ST, which is part of the Nang Nuan project, was spudded on Dec. 4, 2006, and drilled to a TD of 3,205 m (10,515 ft) 25 km (15 mi) offshore Chumphon province.

PTTEP says the production platform and facilities are being prepared to start production from the well in 2Q 2007.
