Eni to drill first well on Norwegian Sea license

OSLO, Norway --Norway's Petroleum Directorate has authorized Eni to drill an exploratory well in Production License 329 in the Norwegian Sea. Well 6607/2-1 will be the first drilled on the license – encompassing three blocks – since it was awarded in 2004 under Norway's 18th licensing round. The license area lies south-east of the 6707/10-1 gas discovery.

TheTransocean Leader will drill the well; Eni's partners in the license are Petoro, Dong, and Gaz de France.
