WEST PERTH, Western Australia -- Tap Oil Ltd. says the Doric-2 development well, which spudded on Dec. 17, 2006, off Barrow Island is on track for completion.

The Doric-2 well is in production license TL/1, and is being drilled as a deviated well from the Linda Platform. The bottomhole location is 2 km (1 mi) northwest of the platform.

Cyclone Isobel necessitated the evacuation of personnel from Jan. 2 to Jan. 4. Operations re-commenced on Jan. 4. Well depth on Jan. 5 was 1,495 m (4,905 ft) after having set casing at 1,490 m (4,888 ft).

The Doric-2 development well is a deviated well, designed to produce gas from the Doric Gas field, discovered and delineated by previous exploration wells Doric-1, Ulidia-1, and Dawn-1. The well is expected to reach total depth by Jan. 12.

The Harriet Joint Venture group is developing the field. Apache Northwest Pty. Ltd. operates the license with 68.5% interest. Partners include Tap (Harriet) Pty. Ltd. with 12.2229% interest and Kufpec Australia Pty. Ltd. with the remaining 19.2771%
