Statoil secures well services

Statoil signs three long-term drilling support service contracts

STAVANGER, Norway --Statoil has signed three frame agreements for sidetrack and fishing operations on its Norwegian sector wells. The company has signed agreements with Baker Hughes, Weatherford, and Smith International for these services, with a combined value of over $80 million.

All agreements run until June 30, 2009, with options for up to four more years. They will guarantee Statoil access to essential equipment and personnel for sidetracked wells.
