Bayou Bend spuds shallow-water prospect

Bayou Bend Petroleum Ltd. has spudded a well on its Gulf of Mexico Mustang Island block 736 prospect in 155 ft (47 m) of water.

VANCOUVER, Canada -- Bayou Bend Petroleum Ltd. has spudded a well on its Gulf of Mexico Mustang Island block 736 prospect in 155 ft (47 m) of water. Hercules Offshore's Rig 253 is drilling the well to 13,115 ft (3,997 m) targeted MD. Pending well results, a caisson will be fabricated and installed.

"This is an exciting day for Bayou Bend as we spud our second well in the Federal waters of the GoM," says Clinton W. Coldren, president and CEO of Bayou Bend. "This is our second of three scheduled projects in the area for this year"

Bayou Bend is the operator and 100% owner of the Mustang Island prospect.
