OSLO, Norway --DNO has plugged and abandoned a well on the Lie prospect in Norwegian production license PL 305, after failing to encounter hydrocarbons.
The semisubmersibleBredford Dolphin drilled the well into the reservoir section to a total subsea depth of 2,165 m (7,103 ft). The rig's next assignment is another exploratory well on the Luno prospect in nearby PL 338 for Lundin Petroleum. It will then revert to DNO for exploration of Thorkildsen in PL341.
DNO's partner on Lie, Rebus Energy, also has 20% of the Storskkrymten prospect in PL 337, where operator Pertra is about to start drilling.
