Kupe anticipates 2009 production

PERTH, Western Australia -- Origin Energy Ltd. says the Kupe Gas project in New Zealand's Taranaki basin is on scheduled for first commercial gas in the first half of 2009.
The Kupe platform jacket is in transit from Thailand and is expected on site by mid-August 2007. Topside fabrication will be completed in October.
TheEnsco 107 jackup is expected to arrive in the field in September. The rig will install the jack and topsides and will drill the development wells for gas production, Origin said.
