CALGARY, Canada --Ithaca Energy expects to start production from its Jacky oil discovery in the UK North Sea in late 2008.

Earlier this year, the company suspended well 12/21c-6 on this prospect, formerly known as Basil, for future re-entry and production. It plans a one-well development via Talisman's Beatrice platform in the Inner Moray Firth.

Ithaca is also about to drill a second well on its 70% owned Athena discovery, prior to an application for field development. It has reached agreement with the owners of the adjacent Phyllis field to evaluate potential unitization and development of both fields, leading to first oil from Athena in late 2009.

In the UK southern gas basin, Ithaca expects to drill the Morpheus prospect early next year.
