PERTH, Western Australia -- Drilling has resumed on the Wonnich Deep-1 well following evacuation for tropical cyclones George and Jacob.

Wonnich Deep-1, in Production License TL/8, lies beneath the producing Wonnich Flag gas reservoir. The well is drilling from the existing Wonnich platform.

The drilling program includes recovering the suspended drillstring so drilling can resume. The plan is to drill from 4,100 m (13,451 ft) to a TD of 5,200 m (17,060 ft).

The primary objective is to test the Upper Jurassic Dupuy sandstone, a proven reservoir in the basin.
