Dragon extends drilling contract

Dragon Oil has signed a five-year extension to its contract for the Iran Khazar jack-up. The rig, operated by North Drilling Co., will continue to drill development wells from Dragon's new LAM A platform in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

ASHGABAD, Turkmenistan --Dragon Oil has signed a five-year extension to its contract for the Iran Khazar jack-up. The rig, operated by North Drilling Co., will continue to drill development wells from Dragon's new LAM A platform in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

Another jack-up, theAstra, has completed perforating and testing of a well from the LAM 13 platform. This tested at a rate of up to 1,525 b/d of oil from three reservoir zones.

The same rig is currently drilling the first appraisal well on the Lam West structure, 28/120, from the LAM 28 platform.
