AGR to support Falklands drilling

Desire Petroleum and Rockhopper Exploration have awarded AGR Petroleum Services (AGR) a $3.1-million contract to provide logistical support and undertake a six-well drilling program in the North Falklands basin.

STRAUME, Norway -- Desire Petroleum and Rockhopper Exploration have awarded AGR Petroleum Services (AGR) a $3.1-million contract to provide logistical support and undertake a six-well drilling program in the North Falklands basin. Desire Petroleum has four prospects while Rockhopper will drill two exploration wells.

The five-month drilling operation is expected to begin next month.

Desire has contract the semisubmersible drilling rig Ocean Guardian for the drilling campaign. It will be used for all six wells.
