LONDON -- Serica Energy has secured the jackup Ensco 80 for an exploration well on the Conan prospect in UK East Irish Sea.

The rig has been contracted through AGR Peak Well Management, and should begin mobilization in April to the location in blocks 113/26b and 113/27c. The duration of the well should be 24 days, excluding mobilization and demobilization.

Serica operates both blocks with a 65% interest, the remainder to be held by Agora Oil & Gas (UK), subject to completion of a farm-out agreement announced on Jan. 20.
