STOCKHOLM -- A third production well (P3) has been completed on Murphy’s deepwater Azurite development off the Republic of Congo, according to partner PA Resources.
P3 is due to start service at the end of April or early May. The next well to be drilled in the program will be injection well I2 – the I1 injector has been in operation since mid-December, providing around 20,500 b/d of water injection.
Thereafter, three more producers and two further injectors should be drilled and completed during 2010.
There have been technical problems, however, with the P2 well completion, resulting in lower than planned output. PA says this well will produce for the time being at the lower production level while Murphy assesses the need for corrective action.
