Ensco Plc has sold the Ensco 57 jackup drilling rig for $47 million.

LONDON -- Ensco Plc has sold the Ensco 57 jackup drilling rig for $47 million. The F&G L-780 MOD II-C design was built in the 1980s. The purchaser was not disclosed.
"The sale of ENSCO 57, along with two other jackup rigs earlier this year, is part of our long-established strategy of high-grading our fleet by investing in newer equipment and divesting selected assets," says CFO Jay Swent.
