PARIS – Total says its TEPA (Block 15/06) subsidiary has discovered oil at the Cabaça SE-1 well in deepwater off Angola in block 15/06. The well reportedly hit significant oil bearing reservoirs in the Miocene 100 km (62 mi) offshore in 470 m (1,542 ft) of water.
Appraisal drilling is planned for 3Q 2010.
Cabaça SE-1 is the seventh exploration well in the block since the acreage was awarded at the end of 2006. The eighth well, the Mpungi-1, is under way.
