LONDON -- ADX Energy has started drilling the Lambouka-1 well on the Lambouka Prospect on the Tunisian side of the Sicily Channel.
The company estimates mean prospective resource for the Lambouka Prospect at 270 MMboe. Main objectives for the well are the Miocene-age Birsa formation and the Cretaceous aged Abiod.
The semisub Atwood Southern Cross is expected to take around 35 days to drill and evaluate this well.
London-based Gulfsands Petroleum is acquiring a 30% participating interest in the Kerkouane license and the adjacent Pantelleria permit which lies in the Sicily Channel in Italian waters.
