Contango starts GoM wildcat

Contango Oil & Gas Co. says it has spudded an exploration well in the Gulf of Mexico.

HOUSTON – Contango Oil & Gas Co. says it has spudded an exploration well in the Gulf of Mexico. The well is in the Galveston area 227L (His Dudeness) prospect.

Contango will pay 100% of the projected $10-million drilling cost.
