OSLO, Norway -- Lundin Norway has been authorized to drill an exploration well close to its Luno discovery in the central Norwegian North Sea.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate approved the program for wellbore, which will be drilled by the semisub Bredford Dolphin after the rig returns from a short stopover at the Coast Centre Base (CCB Ågotnes) near Bergen.

The production license PL 338 comprises the southern half of block 16/1. The well will be drilled about 4 km (2.5 mi) northeast of the 16/1-8 Luno well.
