SOUTH PERTH, Western Australia -- Storm Ventures International’s Fuchsia-1 well offshore Tunisia could be a discovery, according to partner Cooper Energy.

Logging while drilling and well site hydrocarbon shows suggest the well discovered a 16-m (52-ft) gas column in Birsa formation sandstones. Logs also indicate a high-quality sandstone with a porosity of around 30% and gas saturation of 85-90%.

However, preliminary indications are that the find is sub-commercial.

The well, which was drilled to a TD of 2,959 m (9,798 ft) in the Hammamet permit, will be P&A’d, with the Ensco 105jackup. Thereafter, the partners plan to evaluate the well and results and the impact of this discovery on regional prospectivity.
