OGX reports more Campos basin oil

OGX Petróleo e Gás Participações S.A. reports finding an oil-bearing interval in the Albian section of well 1-OGX-14-RJS in block BM-C-40 of shallow Campos basin waters.

RIO DE JANEIRO -- OGX Petróleo e Gás Participações S.A. reports finding an oil-bearing interval in the Albian section of well 1-OGX-14-RJS in block BM-C-40 of shallow Campos basin waters.

According to OGX, an oil column of about 60 m (197 ft) with approximately 22 m (72 ft) of net pay was encountered in carbonate reservoirs in the Albian section. Drilling of well OGX-14, also known as the Pero prospect, is in progress and is expected to be drilled to a maximum final depth of 3,400 m (11,155 ft).

OGX-14 is approximately 96 km (60 mi) off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro in approximately 104 m (459 ft) of water. The Diamond Offshore rig Ocean Lexington started drilling on May 30, 2010.
