ARENDAL, Norway -- Technical problems have interrupted the cylindrical drilling platform Sevan Driller’s program for Petrobras offshore Brazil, according to owner Sevan Marine. The rig has been out of action since August 25 due to defects being detected in its riser tensioning systems (DAT cylinders).

Sevan says the supplier and the manufacturer of the cylinders have taken corrective actions, and is working to effect repairs. During this idle period, the rig is on zero dayrate. It should be back in service by the end of September.
