HAMILTON, Bermuda – The new ultra-deepwater drillship West Gemini has started work for Total offshore Angola, reports Seadrill. The vessel was delivered from Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea at the end of June and reached Angola at the end of August. The drillship is chartered to Total for two years.

“West Gemini will be our fifth unit in West Africa, our third rig in Angola and will strengthen our presence in one of the most important growing oil and gas region,” says Seadrill Management CEO Alf C. Thorkildsen.
