EDINBURGH, Scotland – The Sapele-1 wildcat in Douala basin offshore Cameroon found two potentially significant discoveries, according to Bowleven Oil & Gas. The well found the Miocene reservoirs based on drilling plus initial wireline log and pressure data.

These preliminary data indicate 25-35 m (82-115 ft) of net pay with more drilling to come.

The well is in block MLHP-5, the Etinde permit, with 20 m (66 ft) water depth. The well was at 3,360 m (11,924 ft) when the two potential reservoirs were encountered. Drilling plans call for continuing to a TD of 4,450 m (14,600 ft).
