Anadarko has discovered hydrocarbons in the Badik structure in the Tarakan basin off Indonesia.

HOUSTON -- Anadarko has discovered hydrocarbons in the Badik structure in the Tarakan basin off Indonesia.

The well, drilled in 230 ft (70 m) of water to a TD of 12,950 ft (3,947 m), encountered around 133 net ft (40.5 m) of oil and natural gas pay.

Anadarko and its partners are working on appraisal options, and plan to acquire further seismic on the block, which Anadarko operates with a 35% interest.

The partners are PT Medco E&P Nunukan, BPRL Ventures Indonesia, and Videocon Indonesia Nunukan.
