HOUSTON -- Addax Petroleum, operator of Nigeria/Sao Tome & Principe Joint Development Zone (JDZ) block 4, has finished drilling the Oki East well. The well was drilled in 6,800 ft (2,073 m) of water and reached a TD of 12,600 ft (3,840 m) below sea level.

The well fulfils the work obligation for the block’s Phase I exploration period, which ends in March 2010.

Oki East is the fifth and final well drilled in an exploratory drilling campaign that began in August 2009. The company is now evaluating the commercial potential of JDZ blocks 2, 3 and 4, incorporating drilling results from all five wells into geologic and fluid models.
